We have moments in our lives where things seem very dark. We also have those other moments in our lives where things seem exceptionally bright. Today is a bright day for me–a transition day!
Six years ago, I got the first diagnosis. Breast cancer. But with only surgery for that, I moved on. Scars don’t frighten me. Then five years ago, yes one year later, I got the more scary diagnosis of cancer. Epithelial uterine cancer. A really bad, virulent kind. That one took chemo and radiation. But now, five years later, I am still cancer free. So hooray! So thank God! I am on the regular woman schedule of once a year.
Additionally, since the end of the cancer treatment, I’ve written five books, and co-written one with my hubby, TJ. Pretty cool, if I do say so myself. I am rushing head-long into new life. Writing, loving the grandkids, (and TJ and our kids, too), taking walks, looking for adventures, worshipping God every day. Please join me as I celebrate. I don’t have to see the oncologist for a whole year. I will be celebrating my scars. Scars are proof you’ve lived your life. I have my fair share. Here is the first blog I wrote about the cancer: God Defines Me. This was in 2017. Don’t be sorry for me. I am not sorry for me. This is part of the path God has for me to walk. I can’t wait to see what’s next. Truly.
We had events at the Verde Valley Comic Expo, and the Sedona Public Library at the end of March. This was a great time, outside of believing our Google Drive, which took us off on a of couple wild goose chases. We are thankful for Copper Hotel, which although a bit rundown, had nice people, comfortable, clean rooms, and good prices.
Next, is the Ghosts of Globe Paracon, April 22. You should join us up there. There’s a lot to see, and a fun convention. I’ll post more about that soon!
TJ and I are continuing to write, of course. His short stories should be ready for the April 22, event. I am writing a dramatic fiction story, as well.
In the meantime, celebrate with me and TJ as we are getting healthy, writing, and having a good time with this life God’s given us.
Easter is this weekend… A good time for reflection and renewal. Jesus raised [Himself] from the grave, and He will raise us, too, if we only believe.
