The weather in Phoenix is schizophrenic. We were experiencing high 40s in the mornings, then high 60’s in the afternoon, then rain and clouds. Even some thunderstorms, but the weather wasn’t cold.
Ruby and I walked each day except one, rain or shine. There were two days of gray, gray, rain, rain, a bit of hail, then sunshine. The sunshine day? Freezing cold. Literally 33* on my front porch. Then today? Really nice. Spring-like!

I, personally, could stand a good week or two of winter. I like the cold. That freezing day? That’s the first time we turned on the house heat this winter season. Usually the heat comes on much earlier. I think winter came late last year. February got really cool… for February. We had a week or so of the usual January weather but in February. It was weird.
Before everyone gets excited about global warming, about 10 or so thousand years ago, we had an ice age. Then the entire planet warmed, the ice melted, and we’ve been approximately where we are now, temperature-wise. The weather/temperatures on this planet fluctuate. This is a fact of nature. In fact, in the 1500s (?) we had a real coldsnap after a few volcanoes went off, leaving us very cold for a couple years. Nothing humans did caused these weather fluctuations.
Only God controls these things:

Job: God unleashes lightning, directs snow, freezes water, and loads clouds with moisture, using them to water the earth or punish people (Job 37:3-13).
Jeremiah: Describes God making thunder, causing clouds to rise, and bringing wind from His storehouses (Jeremiah 10:13).
Psalms: Attributes the sky, rain, clouds, lightning, and snow to God, stating storms “do His bidding” (Psalm 148:8).
Jonah: The Lord sends a great wind and mighty tempest to challenge Jonah (Jonah 1:4).
Elijah: Through prayer, the prophet Elijah stopped and then brought rain after a drought, proving God’s power over weather (1 Kings 17-19).
I barely control my own life. That being said, I finished a book. This one is a memoir called The Cancer Chronicles. This is my story about the time when I was sick. You will be able to pre-order the Kindle addition in a couple of days if you enjoy reading e-books. The release date for the the book is February 1, 2026. I have to say, I think the story is a hoot. My BETA readers seemed to enjoy reading it, as well.
Here’s the cover reveal! My sister, Susan, helped me with this! I think you’ll figure out this cover as you read the book! (Thanks, Susan!)

In the meantime… I’ve been writing a Christian western romance… historical more or less, fiction. This one has no title, yet. Usually, I have a title before I begin, but the idea I started with was not right. The entire premise changed as I typed. So… no title. I’ll use the original premise somewhere someday, or… I won’t.
Sweet husband turned 71, yesterday. He’s the best. He replaced a light fixture in our dining room. We went out for food, more or less, and just hung out.
He’s working on a drama about a hijacked plane. He is also working on his autobiography, AND another post-apocalyptic drama with zombies. Ugh. His zombies are similar to the Fallout series zombies. I am not a zombie or ghoul fan. But TJ loves that stuff. I can’t figure out why. This is from Freepik.. (thanks Freepik!)

Coming up, we have an event in Chandler at the Public Library downtown! If you can come, that would be so cool. I’d love to see you, sell you a book, and sign the thing, as well! There are several really great authors who come.

Chandler Public Library Book Festival, January 24. 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Downtown Chandler Library, 22 S. Delaware St., Chandler, AZ 85226
Please feel free to check out TJ’s and my book pages on this website. We have an assortment of interesting, fun stories. Send me a comment. I appreciate hearing from each of you.
