I’m a Traveling (Wo)man…

We had a fabulous, successful time at the Tombstone Festival of Western Books, last Friday! I wish some of you had been able to make the trip. I want to thank Doug Hocking for inviting us the last two years. The big photo is the Chiricahua Mountains where Cochise’s stronghold was.

Because Tombstone is almost 4 hours from our home in Phoenix, we take our travel trailer to the Silver Belt RV park. These guys are pretty nice. The cost is low, the amenities are simple, but the place is set in a quiet neighborhood full of nice people. We get there Thursday afternoon, stay for the festival, then return home (exhausted) on Saturday.

Our next event is in Cottonwood. We will probably stay over Friday night, then coming home after the event because the trip is only about an hour & a half. We always do pretty well at the Verde Valley Comic Expo. This event is fun for comic book/super hero fans. There are tons of artists & authors, as well as costuming joy! We would be happy to see you there if you can make the trip! TJ & I will be dressing up this year! Ruby Sue will be there dressed as Under Dog!

We are signed up for Payson Book Festival in July and for the Desert Foothills Book Festival in October. There will be more on those events as we get closer to them. That being said, you can look on our events page to see events, dates, times!

The most exciting thing, though, is that both TJ & I finished our first drafts of our books. His Dream book has been renamed The Man Who Rode Dragons. Remember how much I wasn’t thrilled by that first name? As I read through the manuscript, the second name burst out at me! So… we changed the name! This is a fun, romping adventure, by the way. Lots of elves, dragons, dwarfs, & a few humans, as well.

Remember I said our books? The Yavapai County Murders is also completed in the first draft. This book is about Detective Allen Anderson, and his assistant, Rebecca Tsosie, who are on a new adventure to solve another serial murder in their small town of Ash Fork, Arizona. Rebecca is in her last semester at the NAU branch at Yavapai College in Prescott. She hears about murders happening there. Young men who went to Ash Fork High School are found dead. She and Detective Allen begin assisting the Prescott Police Department to ascertain who may be involved, what the motive is, and whether or not they can help before more young men are killed.

Both manuscripts will go through BETA readers, editing, & proof reading before publishing. This will take a couple months. We actually worked on covers ahead of this post, so we are close to that part of the effort. Our books take about a year from start to finish, so having both books ready for the Payson Book Festival is a big deal. Woot!

We really do love getting responses from you. Several people give us this kind of encouragement. We appreciate the applause. We appreciate the comments! We love, love, love reviews on Amazon!

Be at peace, dear friends!
