I love that song. My Dad used to sing all these old songs when I was a kid. My voice isn’t the best, but I still sang along. We all did. Dad, Mom, me, and the barfing kid. Dad would take us on road trips for a few hours. We would drive into the desert, up into the mountains, or wherever he felt the draw. In the summer months, he would chase the monsoon storms. And we sang. Those memories are precious to me. As TJ and I traveled through our marriage, we took our kids on road trips, as well. I would sing to them all those songs. Fortuitously, I am still able to sing those songs to our grandkids. We have three, and a bonus, grandkids. Pokey-Mone is married. AR is our sweet bonus grandson. Tall boy is 19, now. He graduated from high school. He’s looking for a job. Little Monkey is 9. She’s growing like a weed. We are so blessed.

The current news for us, The Mirror Gate Chronicles Team, has one more event this year on Sunday! We will be at the Oro Valley Writers Forum – Tohono Chul; 7366 N Paseo Del Norte, Tucson, AZ 85704; Sunday, November 24⋅10:00am – 3:00pm. That’s in the north part of Tucson near Oro Valley. After that, everything starts up again in 2025! Oh my goodness. Time flies doesn’t it?
In the meantime, yes, we are both writing. TJ’s been doing his part on the new murder/mystery. This new story follows Death at Hells Canyon Quarry, where Detective Allen Anderson & Rebecca Tsosie become embroiled in a new murder. We finally figured out who the murderer is, but of course I can’t tell you or there would be no surprise. Would there? This book is called Murders at Yavapai College. You will notice murders is plural.

I have been working on TJ’s story. The working name is The Dream, but I am pretty sure that won’t be the name at the end of the writing. This story is a fantasy, full of adventure, fantastical creatures, and a little romance. The main characters, Bill and Larry, sort of stumble from our existence into a secondary existence. Their lives are disrupted by what they find.
By the way, the barfing kid has grown up into a pretty great author. You should check out her books here: CLICK
