Valley So Low…

Hi! Did you all know that the song Down in the Valley has another name? Apparently, because the last verse references Birmingham jail, the song’s secondary name is just that. Birmingham Jail. Those are the kinds of fun things you’ll learn as you read along with me. Trivia. You’ll be the Trivial Pursuit champion learning all the funky things I have in my brain.

But really, I am here to tell you about our event today. And also, about our new book. The event was at the Holland Center in north, north, North Scottsdale. Seriously, folks. This lovely venue is so far in the north valley, you’d drive right into the desert and up a mountain if you continued on up Cave Creek Road. We took Ruby Sue, our little rescue pup with us. She’s amazing as a companion.

The event was nice. We met some old friends, we met some new friends, we sold a few books. Which brings me to our new book. The story is a re-write of The Flight of the Night Bird. TJ wrote that story about fifteen years ago. Some things happened through the years which made us pull the book. That being said, we rewrote the book, removing some photos, and reworking the entire manuscript. Now… with a new, nicer cover, we present to you The Night Bird. The story is also newer and nicer. Please feel free to buy this on Amazon! #shamelessselfpromo (thank you).

More book news: I am finished with the writing process of our kids’ book. I am trying to find an artist to help me with the cover. I have huge ideas, but I am NOT a graphic artist ever, at all. I do make bead type jewelry and some painted art, but not a kid’s book cover. No way. No how. Hopefully, I can find someone soon. This story is a takeoff on TJ’s Mirror Gate Chronicles Books. I’ve called it Elektra Fairy meets Shaméd the Wizard. Elektra Fairy lives in a wood near farmland being cared for by humans. Shaméd appears one day through the Mirror Gate. They strike up a friendship, so she asks her mother if she can go with him on an adventure. I wrote this for our granddaughter, Elektra. I hope she enjoys the story, but I also want other kids to enjoy it, as well. We should be ready to publish/print in January! God willing.

All of this leads up to the info about TJ and I working on our other manuscripts! He has so many plates in the air. I have the follow-on murder mystery. This story brings back Detective Allen Anderson and Becky Tsosie, from Death at Hell’s Canyon Quarry, as they work together to solve another serial murder. TJ and I cowrote the first story, and we are working together on this upcoming story.

I am also thinking about another Christian romance. I have a title, I think. Now I have to figure out the story surrounding the title. I am chuckling to myself at this juncture. I am not sure how other people write their books. Do they write an outline, with a story in their minds? Do they free write, hoping a book will appear? Do they get a great title, then write a story around it? Eek!

Side bar. If you are involved with a book club, please look at our many stories! I will give you and your group a smoking deal on any one of our books for this purpose!

Regardless of all that, TJ and I are thrilled when we get reviews or emails from our readers! If you read anything we’ve written, please review us on Amazon! Even if you bought from us at an event. Every review helps. But mostly, we want to hear from you! Thanks!
