Book News, Writing News

Hot Town, Summer in the City

Today is June 1, 2024. The temperature is over 100* at noon. Kill me now. These temps make me sluggish, headachy, and grouchy. I am completely unmotivated to write this blog. No rain is likely for a month. This is my really sad face:

In the meantime, TJ and I are coming up on the finishing touches to the rewrite of the Flight of the Night Bird, a Steam Punk genre action story. We had to rewrite the book due to some actual true crime events that happened in Phoenix. Please don’t ask me to tell you about them. TJ and I are not interested in making money off of sad, lurid events. Needless to say, when the events showed up on TV news, and the story developed, we knew we had to pull our original book. Now we will be re-releasing the story about the end of June.

Additionally, we are co-writing another murder/mystery which I talked about in my last (long ago) blog. This story follows Becky Tsosie and Detective Allen Anderson, from the Death at Hell’s Canyon Quarry story, bringing them forward in time to Becky’s graduation from Northern Arizona University as a criminologist. Sadly, several murders take place at Yavapai Community College. Becky and Detective Anderson work together to determine the connection between the young men who’s bodies are found under the bleachers on the football field.

TJ has a myriad of stories working at the same time. I don’t know how he does it, truthfully. I can barely keep what I’m writing organized. Our lives are very busy. I’ve mentioned before that amidst all the other stuff I do, I homeschool my little granddaughter. After school, we go to the family center so she can swim and play with children her own age. She needs the socialization… and people who can keep up with her. She swims, runs, climbs, swims, runs, climbs… lather, rinse, repeat, for about an hour and a half to two hours.

While she does all that, I read a book. I also watch her and the other kids very carefully. I am motivated to care for her. She’s tiny (almost 9 years old), and she’s pretty sweet. Her cupid bow lips and curly hair steal my heart. Don’t tell her.

So. If you enjoy urban drama/fiction, the Dirty End of the Needle is the book for you. You can get this book on Amazon or Kindle. Amazon has an audio version, as well.

If you enjoy Christian Romance, Cheyenne on Her Mind is at this link. This one is meant for Christian women who like sweet fiction. The story is sweet fiction, but has an unexpected edge and a ton of realism.

Finally, you can also get TJ’s The Mirror Gate Chronicles on Amazon. These stories are scifi/fantasy. Every book has an audio version now! That link will take you to his other books, also.

Thanks for reading about our lives. Thanks for reading our books! Please leave a review or find our contact button on our main page. We love to hear from you!
